What is Bioengineering

Bioengineering uses principles of biology and the tools of engineering to create useful and economically viable technologies. Rapid advancements in molecular and genomic biology has allowed bioengineers to implement the powerful engineering paradigm of “measure, model, manipulate, and make," using biological systems. Ultimately, this allows bioengineers to uses molecular biology and genomics tools to develop biology-based solutions to large-scale industrial, environmental, and human health issues.

BioZone uses bioengineering to optimize genetic and regulatory processes within cells and microbial systems to transform less desirable chemicals into more desirable compounds.
